About Me

John: Hello and welcome to Guitar Occasions. I have been playing classical guitar since the age of 14. My older brother Dominick who at the time was a professional jazz bass player introduced me to the classical guitar and to my first music teacher from Brooklyn N.Y. Robin Sherwood, with whom I studied my first 2 years of guitar with. Having a few teachers in between I started to teach myself for some time. I was later introduced to Carmen Marina, and shortly studied at the American guitar society in New York City were I met Dante Rosati with whom I studied privately for sometime. I am at this time continuing my studies with composer/guitarist Jorge Morel. I also teach guitar privately in the New York area.
